Thanks for your interest in joining the MyWorkChoice team at Stanley Black & Decker in Shelby, OH Here's everything you need to know to make sure you're fully prepared for your unpaid orientation.


πŸ‘‰ What You NEED to Know for Your Orientation

As you prepare for your orientation at Stanley, Black & Decker, it’s important to keep the following in mind:

  • Arrival Time: Aim to arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled orientation to allow time for parking and checking in.

  • Dress Code: Be sure to dress appropriately for a warehouse environment.

  • Employment Condition: Your eligibility to work at this facility is contingent upon successfully completing the orientation, the mandatory drug screening, and meeting the background check requirements.

  • Paid Orientation: The orientation is paid at a rate of $10.45 per hour. It includes a tour of the facility, completion of the drug screen, and the orientation session itself.

⚠ Please Note: If you have a "No Call, No Show" (NCNS) on your first day, you will not be eligible to work at this facility. ⚠

Here's the Dress Code:

  • Steel-toed shoes are REQUIRED - You will NOT be allowed to work your 1st day without them.

  • Standard warehouse attire is appropriate.

    • Long pants are required.

    • Shorts are not permitted.

    • Shirts must have sleeves. Tank tops and crop tops are not permitted.

Here's how to upload a photo to your MyWorkChoice profile:

Go to Account > Profile > Click on the Pencil Icon on the Top Right > Click Upload Photo

You can choose an image from your camera or gallery. (Make sure to give MyWorkChoice access to your camera).


πŸ‘‰ Directions to the SBD Facility

Where to Park:

When you arrive, follow the signs directing you to the Visitor & Employee entrance. Please be sure to only park in the designated parking areas.

Where to Enter into Building:

Enter through the employee entrance, which is located to the left of the main entrance, using the badge you received during orientation. Once inside, proceed to the breakroom and wait for your supervisor to meet you. (Reference photo below).


πŸ‘‰ How to Check In

*Please note: Check-In before every shift is mandatory - failure to do so will lead to corrective action that may result in termination.

Go to the MyWorkChoice Check-In tablet at the facility and enter your MWC timeclock pin located on your MyWorkChoice Mobile App dashboard.

Once you've logged in, click the blue "Check In" button next to your shift.

After you "check-in" you'll see a confirmation screen shown. Be sure to log out of the tablet once you're finished.

Once you've checked in, please be sure to clock in using SBD's time clock. Failure to clock in and out of your shifts may result in not getting paid correctly. (We don't want that)!


πŸ‘‰ How to Call In

If you’re going to be late or can’t make it to your shift, make sure to let Stanley Black & Decker know at least 2 hours before your shift starts. Here’s what to do:

  1. Call

    • Leave a message in the call-in mailbox.

  2. Details to include:

    • Leave your first and last name

    • Say you're with MyWorkChoice

    • Explain why you're late or missing your shift

    • Say how long you'll be out

  3. Drop the shift in the app:

    • Open the app and go to "My Shifts" then "Upcoming"

    • Follow the steps to drop your shift
