Please review the "The Rules for Success" below to prepare yourself for working with MyWorkChoice at General Electric/Roper.

NOTE πŸ“

  • If you have ever worked for Roper, you MUST work with MyWorkChoice for 1 year before re-applying for Roper Full-time.

  • If you are a new hire without manufacturing experience or have never worked for Roper, you will be eligible to apply for Roper Full-time after working a total of 420 hours with MyWorkChoice.


βœ… Pay πŸ€‘

MyWorkChoice is paid weekly, on FRIDAYS (we can never guarantee you will get funds before Friday). Your 1st paycheck will be held until the following Friday.

Here are the Payrates:

  • 1st shift - $15.30/hr

  • 2nd & 3rd - $16.80/hr

You can work up to 52 hours in a week, but you CANNOT work over 12 hours in a day. Anything over 40 hours will be considered overtime. Our app will only allow you to work up to 40 hours a week. If you want overtime, once you are scheduled for your 40 hours, you may then call, text, or come to the office to let us know when you would like to work.

NOTE: You MUST work at least 1 shift per month to stay active with MyWorkChoice.


βœ… Parking πŸ…ΏοΈ, Smoking 🚭, and Cellphones πŸ“²

Parking πŸ…ΏοΈ

Make sure your parking pass is clearly visible while on Roper property. The # on your parking permit is your Employee Identification Number. If anything happens to your vehicle, that # is how we find out when the vehicle belongs to. Please Park in the designated areas ONLY. If there is something in or on it, DO NOT PARK THERE!

When coming through the guard shack, you are showing the picture side of your badge. If you do not have your badge, make sure you are stopping at the guard shack to get a temporary badge.

Abide by all speed zones and flow of traffic. Speed zone is 15 mph. If driving, please make sure you are paying attention to pedestrians. If you are a pedestrian walking, please make sure you are checking all ways for vehicles. All traffic must use the front gate only.

Smoking 🚭

TOBACOO USE ON ROPER PROPERTY IS PROHIBITTED this includes no smoking, vaping, or dipping.

Cell Phones πŸ“²

No cellphone usage while walking through the plant or while the line is running. Earbuds or headphones are prohibited on the floor.


βœ… Dress Code πŸ‘šπŸ‘–πŸ‘•

  • Sneakers or boots ONLY! No canvas shoes allowed.

  • If working in paint or ground coat you are REQUIRED to have on Steel toe or Composite toe shoes/boots. You must always wear ear plugs! NO EXCEPTIONS and NO SHORTS!!

  • Shorts have been approved for the assembly area ONLY! If you wear shorts they must be below the knees. If shorts are worn, YOU MUST HAVE A CHANGE OF PANTS ON YOU INSIDE THE PLANT, IN CASE YOU ARE MOVED TO ANOTHER AREA.

  • Ankles must be covered while working. Ankle socks or higher. YOU CANNOT WEAR NO-SHOW SOCKS.

  • No holes in jeans unless leggings are worn underneath them, or they are patched.


βœ… PPE - Personal Protective Equipment πŸ₯½πŸ‘·β€β™‚️

  • Safety Glasses must ALWAYS be worn while on the Operation Floor.

  • Gloves, arm guards, etc. will be job specific and will be available in the vending machines using the info on the back of your badge. Please inspect and re-use PPE as long as it is safe to wear.

Barney Zones- Barney zones are the areas outlined in bright purple duct tape. These areas REQUIRE long pants, (ankles covered), arm guards, and gloves AT ALL TIMES!!!

Make sure you are wearing the correct PPE for the areas you are working. Fab area uses the PPE from the re-wash wall.


βœ… Time Reporting ⏰

**PLEASE REPORT AT LEAST 15 MINUTES EARLY FOR EVERY SHIFT**

You can clock in as early as 30 mins if you’d like.

We have 7 tablets located throughout the plant that you can use. You can use any of the iPads to clock in or clock out on.

  1. Enter the pin, as shown, located beneath your picture on your badge (If this is incorrect, please let us know so we can correct it.)

  2. Press GO.

  3. Click the shift you are working for that day.

  4. Press start shift.

  5. When the timer starts running you are now clocked in. You will see a green button that says sign out, click it and now you are done.

SHIFTS POST EVERY SATURDAY AT NOON.


βœ… Reliability Rating 🌟

The Reliability Rating is a straightforward way to measure your dependability and determines your shift access. Your rating is directly tied to the shifts you've scheduled and your track record of successfully working them.

βœ… Dropping Shifts πŸ“

  • Dropping shifts will impact your β†’Reliability Rating← and could result in a β†’Shift Restriction←

  • IF YOU DROP MORE THAN 10 SHIFTS OR 4 SHIFTS LESS THAN 6 HOURS FROM THE SHIFT START TIME WITHIN A 30-DAY PERIOD YOU WILL BE SUSPENDED!!!


βœ… Occupational Health Center (OHC) πŸ₯βš•οΈ

  • The Contact Number for OHC is (706) 639-2222.

  • Please make sure you are stretching before every shift.

If you are injured at work, you are REQUIRED to report to the OHC prior to going to any other facility. The OHC is for ANY WORK-RELATED INJURY OR SICKNESS.

  • Make sure you are NOTIFYING your supervisor AND MWC staff when you go to the OHC.

  • The OHC DOES NOT accept our insurance therefore we cannot utilize them as a primary care provider.

Insurance information:

  • Fees for insurance come out of your check weekly.

  • Make sure if you have insurance, you are working enough hours to cover your payment weekly. If not, insurance will cancel on your week 2 of no payment.

  • Open enrollment is in September.

βœ… Line Locations πŸ—£οΈ

  • Line 1 - Enter through main pedestrian door with blue cover awning. Immediately to the left, there will be an iPad. Turn back to the right until you get to the gray roll up door. With your back to the roll up door you, are looking at the main aisleway. You will be looking down the back of the plant. First line you come to, will be line 1. There is an ipad on the left side of the aisleway and the meeting spot is on the right. Please ask for Sonia and have a seat at the picnic table.

  • Line 2 - Enter through main pedestrian door with blue cover awning. Immediately to the left, there will be an iPad. Turn back to the right until you get to the gray roll up door. With your back to the roll up door, you will be looking down the main aisleway at the back of the plant. Second line you come to, will be line 2. There is an ipad on the left side of the aisleway and the meeting spot is on the left. Please ask for Jesus or Lisa and have a seat at the picnic table.

  • Lines 3 and 4 - Enter through main pedestrian door with blue cover awning. Immediately to the left, there will be an iPad. Turn back to the right until you get to the gray roll up door. With your back to the roll up door, you will be looking down the main aisleway at the back of the plant. When you pass line 1 and 2, you will see a large opening in the wall, go through the opening. First line to your left is line 3, the next line is line 4. When you pass line 4, there will be an opening and you will see a small gray office on the right-hand side. There should be several people standing outside the door.

  • Line 3j, 5i, and line 5 - Enter through main pedestrian door with blue cover awning. Immediately to the left, there will be an iPad. Turn back to the right until you get to the gray roll up door. With your back to the roll up door, you will be looking down the main aisleway at the back of the plant. Go through the large opening. The third line on the left, after lines 3 and 4, will be 3j on the left and line 5 is on the right. There will be an ipad in the aisleway. Please report to the dry erase board on the right for both.

  • Lines 7, E1 and Counter Units - When coming through the guard shack, you will take a left into the small parking lot. There is a building marked ENGINEERING. Go to the right of the building and walk down the sidewalk until you see a blue awning. Scan you badge on the black box and open the door. Immediately to the left there will be an iPad. You will be looking at counter units. Please walk in-between the two lines to the picnic table and have a seat. For line 7, open the door, stay to the left, walk until you see the gray office. Look across the aisle and have a seat at the picnic tables. Please check in with Donna.

  • Fabrication (Paint and Ground Coat) come through the main entrance at HR. You will come to the building that says HR. Walk straight until you hit the production floor. Take a right and follow the green pathway. Behind the cafeteria and bathrooms there will be an ipad on the right. Continue following the green pathway. It will take you down the second aisle to the right. On the right-hand side, there will be 2 ear plug dispensers. Next you will see a blue office with bright yellow guard rails. There is an ipad there as well. If you are in ground coat, you will dead-end into a row of blue offices. Please stay there and someone will pick you up. If you are going to paint, take a right at the blue offices and go until you see a gray office on the right. Please sign in there.

  • If you come to a door that will not open, find the black box on the wall and scan you badge. Please make sure you are scanning your badge every time you work. IF YOU DO NOT SCAN YOUR BADGE IT WILL MOVE TO INACTIVE

  • There are gray offices throughout the plant if you get lost, sick, injured, or need any type of assistance, find the closest gray office and someone should be in there to assist you. You can also call ext 818, for MWC onsite or the number on the back of your badge.

  • If you lose your badge and need a replacement, there is a $10 fee that will be payroll deducted.

  • 1st offense: Verbal warning

  • 2nd offense: Written Warning (within a 30-day period)

  • 3rd offense: 14-Day Suspension (within a 30-day period)

  • 4th offense: Suspension up to 60 days (within a 60-day period)

  • Apex Lines 1 & 2

    • Product: Free Standing Ranges (Gas & Electric Stoves)

    • Production Rate: 17 to 30 seconds per unit (less elements to assemble)

    • Job Functions: Plug wires, shoot screws, install handle insulation

    • Shift: 1st & 3rd

    • Notes:

      • Lines 1 & 2 are the fastest paced lines

  • Line 3, 3j, 4, 9

    • Product: Wall Ovens

    • Production Rate: 40 to 120 seconds per unit (more elements to assemble)

    • Job Functions: Plug wires, shoot screws, install handle insulation

    • Notes:

      • Line 4 is a popular line to work

      • Line 3j is the slowest paced line

  • Line G1, G5, E4, E1

    • Product: Counter Units

    • Production Rate: 85 to 100 seconds per unit (moderate elements to assemble)

    • Job Functions: Plug wires, shoot screws, install handle insulation

  • Lines 6 & 7

    • Product: Front Controls (Gas & Electric)

    • Production Rate: 85 to 100 seconds per unit (moderate elements to assemble)

    • Job Functions: Plug wires, shoot screws, install handle insulation

    • Notes:

      • Line 7 is a slower paced line

  • Paint and Fab

    • Hanging the parts after paint has been applied to dry on racks

    • Hearing protection, steel-toe shoes, armguards, gloves, and jeans required in this area

  • Materials

    • Sorts parts and moves containers from one side of the plant to the next

    • Steel-toe shoes, armguards, gloves, and jeans required in this area (Barney Zone)

  • Quality

    • Makes sure that the range is up to standard to go through the line

    • Also sorts parts (Quality Sort)

    • Steel-toe shoes, armguards, gloves, and jeans required in this area (Barney Zone)
